Return to Track 2 – Basic CAFS Operations – Let’s Make CAF

Shutting Down a CAFS

NOTE: After shutting down the compressor, allow 2-3 minutes before re-engaging it – the compressor must bleed down the air pressure to allow for a smooth start. Starting a compressor under pressure can cause damage to compressor clutches/pto etc.
In training scenarios, if the system is going to be run through numerous evolutions, leave the compressor engaged until the final evolution.

CAF Ops

Shutting down a CAFS is almost the opposite of starting up a CAFS and is basically removing the ingredients.

Throttle Down. The pressure can be reduced to idle.

Turn off the Air Outlet Valve. This leaves only concentrate and water (solution) in the hose.

Turn off the CONCENTRATE – Push the RED BUTTON! – this now leaves only water in the hose. Let the water continue to flow at low pressure to flush the detergent out of the hose and nozzle valve.

Turn off the AIR Auto Sync.

Turn off the Water Outlet Valve – After the line has been flushed, turn off the water outlet valve.

Turn off the Compressor and Pump! (Wait 2-3 minutes – See Note above at the top for multiple evolutions)
